Ok, I make Louis angry again~~ Sorry, not purposely de~~
Here is the incident:
Louis: Help to wipe clean the drinks menus for all the rooms.
Then one server collect all the drink menus and left it on my reception counter. Waiting for me to wipe them spotlessly clean and shiny.
Me: It is not in my job scope of a receptionist. I'm a server for nine months before, servers did all the cleaning for the menus.
Louis: Is there a necessary to be that calculative? You are quite free with nothing to do now anyway. You can help them and lighten their burden. Plus they are all now busy doing house cleaning.
I LOOK INTO THE CCTV. THERE IS SOMEONE LEANING AGAINST THE WALL, STARING AT SPACE, THEN LOOKING AT HIS FINGERNAILS AND DOING NOTHING.
Me: Hello! You see this for yourself, this is what you call as busy? (Pointing to the CCTV) You can tell him to wipe himself. Plus I am not very free, I have papers to cut and get ready, I have my check in book and reservation book for me to work on. I am also very busy ok?
Then Louis took those drink menus and ask the sever to wipe. He didn't appear at the rececption area for the next three hours. This is very obvious that he is angry as he usually would pop out a few times every hour.
To prove that wiping of drink menus is not classified into the job scope of a receptionist, I called KLP, LCT, DTE, HG branches and confirmed with their receptionist. All of them did not wipe the drink menus. And altogether, the wine menus, food menus and drink menus will add up be a total of about 100 pieces or more leh! So why must I be the special one to wipe them?
So, as business is not very good, I use the time to reflect. Perhaps I am too calculative. Perhaps if they had ask me with a polite attitude to wipe the menus, I might. Perhaps I have to do everything Louis asked me to, he is my superior anyway and most importantly that he is a nice person. But receptionist cannot be too nice and do those stuff for servers, they will take it for granted, and they will never be grateful to you anyway. Maybe I should apologise to Louis. But how?
1st version: Maybe I will tell him sorry when he come out later.
But I decided not to. Because if I said sorry, it means I am wrong = next time I have to wipe the drinks menu.
2nd version: When he come out later, ask him "you angry arh?"
Sounds better right?
So while I am still troubling with what I want to say when I see him, he came out with this plate of spaghetti which he cooked himself holding the fork in the other hand, have some spaghetti dangling from his mouth and ask me cheerfully, "要不要吃?"
Then I was like WOW. This guy is now officially my idol, really totally earned my respect.
I tell him that I am not hungry plus how can I be so bad to snatch some food from someone who is trying so hard to put on some weight?
Me: 生气啊?
Louis: 废话.... .... 真的不要吃?
